Insecurity

It had been two weeks now. Two weeks she had caught Soarin staring at her this specific way with such ferocity it scared her. Well, worried her, ‘cuz you know, she doesn’t scare easily.
Rainbow Dash was pacing back and forth in her Wonderbolts room. She was trying to decipher Soarin’s recent, odd behavior.
She quickly turned her attention towards the door, which she now realized was being knocked on.
“Come in.”
Speak of the devil.
“Hey, Dash-“
Soarin stopped his sentence short. Rainbow Dash was standing in the middle of the room. There was practically only ONE reason for why she was standing right smack in the middle of her room.
“What’s going on?”
She hated when he did that. Why does he always know how she feels? She was great at hiding her feelings!!! Wasn’t she?
“I’m just nervous. We have another show this Friday. You know, one where a whole bunch of important ponies will show up for?”
Soarin seemed to accept that excuse because he trotted over to her and took a seat next to her on her big, beautiful and blue bed with such confidence, it made Dash smile weakly. She wasn’t that keen on lying, especially to one of her closer friends.
Soarin wrapped a hoof around her and brought her closer to him. She looked up, knowing he would have something to say.
“You’ll be fine. You know everyone here has respect for you, and they all know you have potential, Dash. You’re here because you of thousands made it, right? Besides, were pretty important ponies”, he stated as a matter of fact, all the while wiggling his eyebrows up and down.
Dash laughed weakly while nodding. If this were really her problem, she would have felt better in an instant.
“Hey! None of that”, she heard him say.
She was completely caught off guard as he had grabbed her chin and forced her to face him. When had she turned her face away from her friend?
She made eye contact with him.
Whatever Soarin had to say melted on his tongue as he felt his throat constrict and his cheeks burn.
THERE!!! There he went again! He was doing it again! He was looking at her this way that made her feel so… insecure. She blushed from her insecurity as he continued to stare at her. Dash felt herself shiver from the intensity of his stare.
Soarin felt her shiver. She was staring straight at him with confusion written all over her small, blue face.
“I forgot what I was going to say”, he shouted cheekily as he smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.
Dash lost all confusion once written on her face. Now, she simply held a face that stated “REALLY???”. She rolled her yes while playfully pushing him away.
“Anyways,” continued the stallion as he got up from the bed they were both on and turned his body towards the door to hide his growing blush, “Spit sent me to get you. New set of morning drills today”, he finished with fake enthusiasm quickly forgetting the incident on Dash’s bed.
“I can’t wait”, she concluded with just as much sarcasm as they both exited the room and headed for the death sentence of that morning.

Quick explanation, Dash has been there for a while… almost nine months to be exact. This would be her first show for all rich and important ponies of course. I know there would obviously be important shows before that, but Dash was told she would get her chance once Spitfire would say so. This was her chance.

 Why, Rainbow Dash!!! Since when have u become an excellent liar!!! XD

Also, i had uploaded this pic before, but that was a complete mistake... for those of u who have faved the other pic... please fave this one. Obviously i made a clear mistake with the description. Thank u!!! XD
